Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data is collected when you visit the DevJourney website or use the DevJourney application, why it is collected, how it is used, and the rights you have over it. The data collected is kept to a minimum and is never sold.
1. Who is responsible
DevJourney is operated by ARTUR KOT, a sole proprietor registered in Poland (the “Controller”). For all matters relating to your personal data, the Controller can be reached at:
ARTUR KOTul. Młodości 14/6, 05-825 Książenice, Poland
Tax ID (NIP): 5213984164
Email: [email protected]
As the data controller, ARTUR KOT determines the purposes and means of processing the personal data described below.
2. What data is collected
Only data that is necessary to run the service is collected:
- Contact & waitlist data. If you sign up to be notified about launch or updates, the email address you provide is collected.
- Purchase data. When you buy DevJourney, your payment is processed by the reseller, Paddle (see Section 5). Order and license details such as your name, email address, country, and the last digits / type of card are received — but never your full payment-card number.
- Support data. If you make contact by email, your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message are received.
- Application & AI data. When you use the in-app AI tutor, the code, questions, and prompts you submit are processed to generate a response. Your learning progress is stored locally on your device.
- Usage analytics. A privacy-friendly analytics tool (Plausible Analytics) is used; it does not use cookies and does not collect any personally identifiable information. It only records aggregate, anonymous statistics such as page views and referrers.
3. Why your data is used and the legal basis
Under the GDPR, the following legal bases apply:
- To deliver your purchase and license — performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- To send you launch or product notifications you requested — your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.
- To respond to support requests — the legitimate interest in helping users (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- To keep the service secure and improve it using anonymous analytics — a legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- To comply with tax and accounting obligations — a legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
4. Cookies
The website does not use tracking or advertising cookies. The analytics tool is cookie-free. A limited number of strictly necessary cookies may be set by the payment provider during the checkout process to complete your purchase securely.
5. Who data is shared with
Your personal data is not sold. It is shared only with the service providers needed to operate the service, each of which acts under its own data protection commitments:
- Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd) — the authorised reseller and Merchant of Record, which processes payments, handles billing, and remits applicable taxes.
- Plausible Analytics — privacy-focused, EU-hosted, cookie-free website analytics.
- AI service providers — used to power the in-app AI tutor and process the prompts you submit to it.
- Email and hosting providers — used to operate the website and communicate with you.
Data may also be disclosed where required by law or to protect the Controller’s legal rights.
6. International transfers
Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, the transfer is protected by an appropriate safeguard such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
7. How long your data is kept
Your data is kept only as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected: waitlist emails until you unsubscribe or the campaign concludes; purchase and invoicing records for as long as required by tax law (generally up to 5 years); and support correspondence for as long as needed to resolve your request.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- access the personal data held about you;
- request correction of inaccurate data;
- request erasure of your data (“right to be forgotten”);
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior processing.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Polish data protection authority, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych, uodo.gov.pl).
9. Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. When it is, the “Last updated” date above will be revised. Significant changes will be communicated where appropriate.
